Casting Call for Frederick TV Coming Soon

Keep watching this spot for information about a Casting Call for Frederick TV later this month. We're looking for folks with natural screen presence-- no experience necessary-- who can offer everything from gardening tips to book/movie reviews to Frederick History Minutes. Whatever your talent, whatever your idea, BRING IT! Our goal is to feature diverse, interesting people who have something to share with their fellow Frederick Countians on Frederick TV. Time commitment will be less than a few hours/month, and tapings can often accomodate "the talent's schedule." Now, c'mon...wouldn't you like to be known as "the talent?" You know you would!

This is a resume-builder, a retirement hoot or something for this year's holiday letter ("Foster has finally found a use for all those organizing tips he's collected on our local TV station!". In other words, $$$ is slim to none at this point. But if you feel you're overdue for that 15 minutes of fame, consider throwing your hat in the ring!

Watch the FNP for details, and check back here often.

Frederick TV Advisory Group

The McCoy Media Group has joined forces with The Frederick News Post to create a brand new television network for and about Frederick County. Broadcast daily on Cable Channel 10, Frederick TV currently consists of two half-hour programs: Your Frederick Home, & Frederick 360. A third show, A Healthy Frederick, goes into production later this month, with a launch date planned for early August 2007. In addition to airing limited-run programs of interest to County residents in the coming months, Frederick TV is currently test-marketing 2 other programs to round out the network's growing line-up by year's end. (For show times or to view sample shows, visit www.fredericknewspost.com and click on FNP TV)

Our goal is to create programming that is relevant, timely and entertaining. Our entire philosophy is based on our belief that everyone has a story to tell that can educate, edify or entertain someone else. We need you to tell us about the things that interest you. Hook us up with the inspiring, the brave and the unusual people you know. No one can help us celebrate this wonderful County like those of us who have chosen to call it "home." We can't promise coverage to every suggestion, but we will give each idea respectful consideration.

We're open to all story ideas & suggestions, but to start us off, I need fodder for a special segment I want to feature on Your Frederick Home with the working title of either "Best Kept Secrets," "Backroads Frederick," or "Off the Beaten Track." I'm looking for interesting places, spots, stores, locales that you feel more people should know about....

Someone care to start us off?
